The traffic accident statistical analysis in recent years shows that driving in driver fatigue hasbecome one of the main causes of traffic fatalities. Research on monitoring the drivers’ driving statehas become popular today. But so far there isn’t any product can be both cheap and accurate., whichcauses the driver fatigue detection products are not widely used. Therefore, it will have importantsocial significance and of great economic value to design and develop a driving fatigue warningdevices which is cheap, with a certain precision and has a good scalability.This paper combine the driving fatigue warning and mobile terminals by develop a vehicledriver fatigue warning system on the Android platform for the high degree of openness of theAndroid platform can give full play of the function of the hardware and software of the intelligenttermianl. This system is mainly divided into three parts: data acquisition, data processing and resultsoutput. The Data acquisition part is get the real time image of the steering wheel, vehicleacceleration, sound, geographical coordinates etc. of the car by the equipment which are alreadyintegrated in the mobile terminal such as camera, accelerometer, GPS etc. Then processing thisinformation to judge whether the driver is fatigue driving. And timely make warning when thedriver is in driving fatigue state. In order to improve the driving safty, this system integratedfunctions as call for help when the collision accident occurs and automatically process the incomingcalls.This Paper theoretically research the method of achieve the prewarning function. Propose amethod of quick identification method base on the preset signs monitoring steering wheel operationand and monitoring vehicle traveling state by the recording, monitoring car throttle and brakeoperation base on the intelligent terminals acceleration sensors.And raise method to achieve seriouscollision distress and automatically call processing functions. Then design a system to achieveabove functions by programing and testing. Make sure the system has fatigue prewarning andfunctions like call for help when the collision accident occurs and automatically process theincoming calls. Thanks to the development of today’s technology, the performance of the mobileterminal has been able to support to guarantee the accuracy and sensitivity need of the warningsystem. Otherwise, mobile terminals with camera are very common. This laid hardware foundationfor the promition and application of the driver fatigue warning system.This system has variety functions, accurate in fatigue driving identificaion and be easily used. The system not only achieves the above functions in stimulator, but also completes the real machinedebugging. It had been run on HTC EVO3D (G17) successfully. The experiments show that thevehicle driver fatigue warning system based on the Android smart mobile terminal has a wide rangeof feasibility and practicality.
