In recent years, various applications based on user’s location emerge with the developmentof the Internet of Things. The users are facing huge threat of leaking location information whileenjoying the convenient services. Therefore, location privacy protection of the Internet of Thingshas become a hot research topic. In this thesis, location privacy protection algorithms have beenstudied in order to protect the privacy of the user’s location while providing location-basedservices.This thesis focused on the location privacy protection in RFID and wireless sensor networkswhich are the critical parts of the Internet of Things. Location privacy threats in RFID-basedapplications and wireless sensor networks are analyzed in this thesis. Existing location privacyprotection technologies are also introduced in this thesis. Then, this thesis mainly researches theprivacy protection of RFID location information query process and the sink node location privacyprotection in wireless sensor network. Detailed works are as follows:(1) For the data privacy protection in the RFID tracking system, this thesis designs aneffective RFID location privacy protection algorithm, called Data Partition and Encryption BasedRFID Location Privacy Protection (DPERLPP) Algorithm, which doesn’t depend on reliableservers. The DPERLPP algorithm stores time information and location information in differentphysical spaces by vertical data partition, and then encrypts the ID information by hashencryption method. The results of test Experiments have shown that the designed algorithm isboth secure in privacy and effective in executing query.(2) For the location privacy protection of the sink nodes in wireless sensor network, thisthesis designs a Sink Node Privacy Protection Algorithm Based on Random Candidate Path(SPPRCP). By this algorithm, the path between real objects and real sink nodes can be hidden bysending data package to fake nodes through random candidate paths. SPPRCP algorithm canprotect sink node location privacy efficiently; it also can reduce network energy consumption andthe packet loss rate. The results of test experiments have shown that the algorithm can protect thelocation privacy of the sink nodes well with low energy consumption.(3) This thesis gives the idea of applying the algorithms in the cash truck tracking system inorder to explain that both of the algorithms are not only theoretically efficient but also practically useful.The thesis has done beneficial research work in location privacy protection algorithm.
