In this dissertation, a research has been made on the equipment for intelligent pest identification based on real-time video information transmission and spectrum acquisition, as well as the spraying of pesticides.First, to address the situation that many problems and deficiencies currently exist in pest identification, prevention and curing, a new architecture is proposed which can be used in the production environment. The best carrying method and transmission mode is applied for this architecture. An analysis on technical level determines that an ARM11embedded system is used as hardware platform and Linux as operating software. At the same time, application and kernel driver’s development supports the main logic of the intelligent equipment. In this dissertation, a server for data transparent transmission between TCP/IP protocol and RS-232protocol is implemented. This server can be widely used in serial communication devices like spectrometers, sensors, etc. to communicate with the host computer, and a TCP/IP network based on these devices could be setup smoothly. An HTTP server which supports MJPEG video stream is developed; it can send real-time video to the controlling station. Also, it accepts commands from the controlling station and then manages the pesticides spraying device. An experimental prototype has been made during the research. Under the simulated production environment, three different materials’reflectance spectropy are acquired and analyzed by the intelligent equipment. The test results show that the whole system is in good working order and is able to achieve the desired objects. The last part of this article summarized the work and proposed the technical and system improvement direction in the future.
