Large scale3D Terrain Simulation on computer graphics is a hot issue in the. It is the mainsettlement in the realization of3D terrain visualization to read large terrain data and mapping oflarge scale topographic maps generated in the process of the number of triangles problem. Thearticle introduces the rapid rendering of large scale terrain of several usual practice, and describeshow to use the hierarchical segmentation model. This paper introduces several common methodsused to achieve large scale terrain3D fast simulation visualization, and their respective advantagesand disadvantages are analyzed and compared.In the real time simulation and3D geographic information system the visualization of terraindata occupies a very important position, because of the high resolution digital elevation model databy satellite remote sensing technique to obtain, people is in after obtaining data, hoping to studymore extensive terrain range. Large scale3D terrain simulation research object is to large scale3Dterrain for rapid real-time rendering, to satisfy the people’s observation of large-scale terrain needs.By the author of some large scale3D terrain simulation system research, in large scale3Dterrain simulation system for large-scale terrain3D rapid visualization, simulation drawinggenerated a large number of the triangle problem through the establishment of a binary tree based onfour terrain layer subdivision model to solve, through the block to the management of real time3Dlarge terrain data, facilitates real-time read large amounts of3D terrain data, this algorithm can drawlevel difference of arbitrary layer adjacent terrain module, thereby realizing the fast simulation ofthree dimensional terrain visualization of massive terrain, even if the display speed, and can makethe rendering terrain graphics quality was improved effectively.
