Along with the persistence increment of data rate in mobile and data communication system, inter-symbol interference becomes one of the important factors which affect the quality of services. Disadvantages of traditional equalization lead to the origination of blind channel identification and equalization. It has already become the most popular technology in communication and signal processing subject fields.Beginning with the history of blind identification and equalization. This paper summarizes channel models used in blind identification algorithms and channel identification of condition. Several classical blind identification methods are also introduced and explained. Analysis of the subspace method, when matrix dimension is large, it has the defects of complicated calculation. On the basics, an improved subspace algorithm based on total least squares is proposed. Algorithm uses total least squares instead of covariance matrix eigenvalue, reduces the amount of computation, improves the computational efficiency. Meantime, the theory model and the derivation is given. The validity of the algorithm is verified by simulation experiment.
