After years of continuous operation, Base station equipment aging and show instabilityin performance. Although we have alarm mechanism for such hidden failures, it is hard totimely detect the instability.Because the hidden fault of base station exists and is difficult to find, so it is moreharmful than dominant fault, and it is a long-term impact on the quality of the network.Network optimization personnel often need to consume a large amount of manpower andmaterial resources to carry on the confirmation check, in order to deal with the hidden failure.Hidden fault seriously affects the quality of the mobile communication network, STSstatistical Indicators, customer perception of network and the network indicator assessment.The existing methods treat hidden fault only when obvious Indicator changes or siteoperation deterioration happen. These methods are inefficient, not timely, making a certainpressure to the existing network quality. Therefore, the hidden fault of base station has greatinfluence to the network. We need urgently to put forward a kind of hidden fault cellpositioning method.In this paper, base on the principle of balance of uplink and downlink, we locate thefaulty cell according to the path loss statistics, do scientific selection from MRR road lossdata sources, and make MRR downlink path loss modification. On the basis of foregoingwork, we analyze the path loss statistics and the effect of the phenomenon of various faultconditions, and abstract such phenomenon using mathematical statistic method. We developuplink and downlink path loss value deviation coefficient, uplink and downlink stabilitycoefficient according to the characteristics of hidden fault, which lays a good foundation ofabnormal cell screening, so as to realize the abnormal cell detection and location, eventuallyforming the determination method of present network hidden fault cell.The location and analysis method of hidden fault can determine the cell which uplinkand downlink signal of different frequency points is instable or uplink and downlink path lossis Imbalance; hence locate the hidden fault of antenna, CDU or carrier. The method can beused as a network quality improvement tool to fast determine the hidden faulty cell of the present network, which realizes batch checking of hidden faulty cell. The method can play astrong supporting role in improving the network quality and Indicators level, which has largeeconomical superiority.
