The application of multi-beam array radar is more and more widespread owing tothe advantage of swift beam scanning, beam form changing, and spatial powercombining. The performance of detection and anti-jamming has a direct impact on theradars’ operational performance evaluation in field application. One multi-beam arrayradar is studied aiming at its detection and anti-jamming capability in this paper whichprovides some valuable reference to the application of equipments.Firstly, the project background and its application value is introduced, followedby the expatiation of the present development situation of the multi-beam array radarand its related techniques at home and abroad. Then the principles of the radar systemare briefly introduced, and the detection performance is analyzed in different workingmode, then the radar’s measurement precision is analyzed about height,azimuth anddistance. Next, under the noise jamming and the false target jamming, it is mainlystudied about the detection performance and anti-jamming effect on the radar.Finally,test results of the radar in application are presented,and the test result isanalyzed about signal mismatching and combinatorial jamming.Among the paper, the detection performance of the radar facing noise jamming isanalyzed by considering jamming exposure area and suppression coefficient. Aimed atthe characteristic about the multi-beam array radar which is able to anti-jam by spatialadaptive filtering when facing noise jamming, the anti-jamming effect of sidelobecancellation is mainly analyzed. As to false target jamming, the detection performanceis mainly analyzed upon the change of radar detection probability.At the same time,theanti-false-target-jamming ability of pulse compression, MTI/MTD, CFAR, andside-lobe cancellation are analyzed, focus on the anti-false-target-jamming abilityanalysis of sidelobe cancellation technique.This paper can help to comprehensively understand the detection performance andanti-jamming capability of the multi-beam array radar.It is not only to providetheoretical foundation and data support for the accurate evaluation of the radar’spractical effect, but also to provide valuable reference for the internal field simulation.Furthermore, it will facilitate the radar to enhance its operational effectiveness.
