Switch is the basic characteristic of GSM network. It is also one of the most important characteristics of GSM network. Switch would be produced in the process of moving from one cell to another or from one channel to another during the call. With the rapid developing of mobile communication technology, switch has become an important means of control wireless link. It can keep connection when the call is moving through different cells. Switch can reduce the Drop Call Rate effectively while offering the better communication quality. In the transition process for a reference to the traffic equilibrium calculation, also can effectively reduce the whole net congestion rate.The innovation of this paper is combining with the new type Huawei switching algorithm, and used in Shihez area in the operation of the GSM network, in reducing the number of switching failure, taking account the decreases of the drop call rate and TCH Blocking Rate at the same time. To improve the overall KPI is effective in the network while have certain guiding significance for the existing network of continuous optimization.The first chapter and the second chapter mainly introduces the basic concept of switching, classification, research and application status quo and switching trigger condition and signaling process. At present, China Unicom GSM network in Shihez using the first generation Huawei switching algorithm. This switching algorithm divided into four stages are measuring result report, the measuring result processing, switching judgment and switching executive. The process achieved by MS (Mobile Station), BTS (Base Transceiver Station), BSC (Base Station Controller) and MSC (Mobile Service Switch Center).The third chapter introduces huawei switching algorithm in details, and the parameter configuration is given under the guidance of this switching algorithm.Gradient increases from south to north in Shihez. Suburban area is vast. Main roads snake in deep mountains, forest belts and deserts. Base stations stand on Antlers bay scenic spot and DongDaTang scenic spot are island stations in mountains. The city has no dense high-rise building area and the less population. In order to meet the needs of continuous seamless coverage, China Unicom2G network equipment working in the frequency band both GSM900M and DCS1800M in Shihez. Using900M frequency band meet the needs of covering demand for outer suburbs and road. Base stations which work in the1800M frequency band are mainly used to share the possible high traffic for hot spots. Using the first generation Huawei switching algorithm in the entire network, as long as setting PBGT switching threshold and the switching threshold between layers of double-frequency network reasonably can effectively inhibit the production of table tennis switch and can improve the Handover Success Rate efficiency of the whole network.The fourth chapter gave processing ideas to switching problems in general. Comprehensively considering of the wireless environment characteristics and equipment configuration mode in Shihez, processing of the switching problem is usually taken the following positioning steps:At first determine the problems appeared in the individual cell or all cells. Secondly, confirm whether modifying data before the switch problems appeared.Third, check whether there is a hardware failure. Fourth, related to the registration Traffic KPI (Key Performance Indicator), such as TCH (Traffic Channel Half Rate) performance measurement. Finally, carry out the Drive Test around the problem cells and analyzes measure signaling. Generally the switching problem is divided into two kinds of analysis:one kind is switching cannot launch, another kind is data configuration is not reasonable. Considering whether meet the needs of switch conditions for the cell not to initiated switching at first, then determine whether existing the candidate cells meet the needs of switch conditions. For the switching problem caused by data configuration is not reasonable, the key to check the data setting of current service cell and adjacent cells and set the switching related timer reasonably. The fifth chapter is shown the results after the concentration of optimization. Strictly verify the accuracy of all the parameters setting which involved in switch in Shihez.Combined with wireless environment characteristics optimize each cell with the lower handover success rate and the cluster in the light of multiple problems area. Handover success rate steady at around98.7in Shihez. Users get good perception.
