High Altitude Platform System has a wide application in wireless communication area due to its unique advantages over other communication systems. As a multi-carrier modulation technique, Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (i.e. OFDM) is suitable for HAPS to achieve high rate data transmission because of its high frequency efficiency.This thesis focuses on the principle of OFDM and implements the modulator and demodulator at the speed of155Mbps. The main contributions are as follows:1. The frame-structure used in the system is designed. The synchronization and channel estimation are researched and then algorithms suit for HAPS are selected.2. The base-band FPGA design on modulator and demodulator is finished. And its performance is tested.3. The hardware platform is discussed and the devices used in the system are selected. Then a testing scheme is given and the test is completed. Finally the correctness of the system is verified.
