Sensors offer an effective technical mean to perceive and monitorthe objective world,which meet people’s demand for real-time accessingto information of the things.In the field of industrial, as a result ofcorrosion of transmission pipelines, accidents like leaks of oil and gasoften occur, which monitor mainly by using artificial test periodically. Soin today’s society, the demand for establishing online monitoring systemof oil and gas pipelines is increasingly upgrading, and has become animportant application of sensor technology.As to the high demand of safety and resistance to electromagneticinterference,combined with high-sensitivity of fiber grating sensingtechnologies on the stress-strain, easy to reuse, flexibility of the packageand other advantages, this paper proposes utilizing FBG sensortechnology to conduct online monitoring for the prevention of pipelinecorrosion.Firstly, the article makes a statement about the characteristics,superiorities and applications of FBG sensor technology, and putsforword inner-corrosion monitoring by utilizing FBG grating sensormonitoring technology in view of the current domestic demand for oiland gas pipeline monitoring and the construction of Internet of Things;secondly, it makes an introduction of FBG grating sensor in three aspectsof basic principle, the refractive index distribution, and temperature andstrain sensing theory; in addition, by utilizing layer peeling on thereconstruction of reflectance spectra, it also sets forth the application ofFBG grating sensor in areas of civil engineering,energy, etc.; thirdly, itmakes detailed research on three key key technologies in FBG sensormonitoring system--encapsulation technology, multiplexing anddemodulation techniques; furthermore, it also has a choice of keytechnology in the FBG grating sensing system that applied to pipelinecorrosion monitoring; lastly, it refers to the construction of laboratoryexperimental environment, in which the system is applied to monitor themicro-strain on the surface of defective pipeline, the result of which iscompared to that of finite element analysis software for the guidance ofsensor layout and analysis software design development. with a statement of issue research background and significance, thearticle has a in-depth study on being-used sensor and system and a designof FBG sensor monitoring system for pipeline corrosion monitoring,what’s more, it also analyzes the system feasibility through experimentsand modeling.
