Based on the study of BFG's sensing principles and mechanical properties of elastic material, the embedment of fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensor in the flexibility material has been explored and researched. The cube modules of polymer have been designed and developed. The strain in the flexibility material has been monitored while the module pressed with a applied force, and the orientation technique has also been studied.Firstly, the sensing properties have been analyzed based on the Bragg equation. The expression of strain sensitivity of FBG can be described as the sum of radial direction and axial direction sensitivities while the space force effect on the FBG, which are co-affected by elastic-optic and wave-guide. FBG's axial strain sensitivity is much bigger than radial strain sensitivity. Secondly, on the basis of performance of elastic polymer, the mechanical behavior of polymers in rubber state has been mainly studied, and the feasibility of FBG in the strain measurement in elastic material is also researched. Thirdly, room temperature cured two-component silicone rubber was chosen as the raw material, and the intelligence modules embedded FBG srain rosettes have been obtained. Based on the chemistry properties and curing mechanism of the reagents, the curing time and materials performance have been controlled by the coordinate proportion, meanwhile, the bord quality of FBG and elastic material can be improved by adding reagent. The techeique and process of the fiber Bragg grating effectively embedded in elastic material has been grasped.Eventually, the pressing experiment of different intelligence modules has been tested by using the self-made applied devices, monitoring the internal strain of elastic material has been realized, and the orientation technique has also been studied. The experimental results are agree with the theoretical values, basically. This work provided a valueble refence for research on material intelltualized.
