With the development of economy and society, people’s demand of wireless communication is increasing. With strong anti-interference, multiple access ability, anti-multipath interference and multipath fading and other advantages, spread spectrum communication is payed closer and closer attention to. Especially the DS-CDMA is the mainstream technology used in3G(third generation mobile communication). However, the conventional DS-CDMA has its shortcomings, the autocorrelation, cross correlation, periodicity and other properties of spreading code it used can not achieve higher level requirements.Past three decades, nonlinear science has rapidly developed. Chaos in particular, is the recent domestic and international focal point of scientific research and engineering applications. And the application of chaos in communication is the development in full swing, provides us with new ideas and methods to solve the problem. Chaos-based DS-CDMA is also being researched, but these studies are based on simple Gaussian channel, and there is little introducing about multipath transmission channel. This paper is in this aspect. This paper describes the spread spectrum communication and multipath transmission channel in detail. Based on these knowledge, chaos theory applied to DS-CDMA communication system is analysed briefly. In this theoretical basis, the performance of chaotic spreading sequences is proved and simulated. Next, DS-CDMA communication system based on binary quantization chaotic sequence is built by simulation software System View, and simulate the work condition under multipath transmission channel. Through a variety of different parameters of the simulation, the performance of such spread spectrum communication system under different condition is got and analyzed. Simulation results indicate that DS-CDMA based on chaotic spread spectrum technology has good prospects.
