Application Of Multidimensional Analysis And Data Mining Technology In Teaching Management System Of Institution Of Higher Education

With rapid expanding in size and durative reforming in education system of universities or institutes in China, the workload and the complexity of academic affairs increases greatly. So it is necessary and necessitous to develop a high effective teaching affairs management system based on network.At the same time, college teaching quality is an important question. It is closely linked with the appraisal and improvement teaching management each kind of factor. During many years, we have accumulated massive data in the implementation teaching and the supervisory work. But, at present we just use the management system to manage the primary data, backup them, inquiry them, and do statistics simply, So far, it has not been used to provide one effective method to help the educational administration.Therefore, this thesis develops a college educational function of data management system applying data warehouse and data mining technology. We can use the system to extracte information or knowledge hidden in the massive data to help university decision-maker to make decisions in order to improve teaching quality. This thesis completes the following items:1) A teaching management system is designed and developed;2) A student score data mart is built using the concept of multidimensional data, such that the decision makers can analyze the student score from differentperspectives, such as professional courses, teachers, students, and different individuals;3) The analytical hierarchy process (AHP) is used determine the weights of teaching quality evaluation indexes, Then we use association rule discovery technology to mining the relationship between teacher’s natural factors (such as educated experience, age, professional title) and the evaluation results of quality of teaching. So the manager can use these rules to arrange class to improve quality of teaching.
