With the implementation of the policy of University enrollment and the increasing number of the university students, the decision-making information which comes from the conventional pattern of the teaching management have been unable to meet the teaching managers' requirements. The application of data mining technology has become extensively, but it has insufficient used in education.The contradiction between the expanding amount of information about the education and its low gaining of the decision-making information is the starting point of this research thesis. A general introduction of data mining technology, including data preprocessing, data mining methods, data mining processes and so on is given in this thesis. After analyzing the disadvantages of the current teaching management on student score management, teaching appraisal management, probationer management and expatiating the need of data mining technology in those aspects. Meanwhile, according to the different characteristics of the teaching manage modules, this thesis uses different data mining methods to analyze them. In order to obtain much more useful potential information, a new pattern of teaching management has been designed based on the conventional one, which aggregated the data mining model, and can be served for teaching managers.For the application of data mining technology, this thesis uses data processing technology on the actual experimental data. It focus on analyzing the factors which affects the CET-6 pass rate by using association rules of Apriori algorithm, and makes conclusions on the basis of analysis that the CET-6 grade depends on the studying in school, it also affected by the Grade of College Entrance Examination but a little. It also uses decision tree of C4.5 algorithm to analyze the factors on teaching appraisal, and makes conclusions on the basis of analysis that the attitude and technique of the teachers are the most important factors which affects the teaching most. This teaching management system is designed to gain much more useful potential information and guidance decision-making from student score management, teaching appraisal management, probationer management, and to serve for improving on the teaching management.
