This paper introduces a whole MIMO radar system platform, which is designed togenerate all kinds of signals for it. The system provides a well-performed hardwarefoundation and software platform for users to modulate and test direction-of-arrivalalgorithms on MIMO radar.This paper studies the components of a classic MIMO radar, including themonitor-timing part, the waveform-generating part and the relation between them. Thenthe technological process of a MIMO radar is introduced. The basic principle of theMIMO radar is also presented as well as the methods of building the model for them.The phased-array radar and direction-of-arrival algorithm on it is discussed later tostudy their performance. A new band direction-of-arrival algorithm on MIMO radarsystem is realized based on the model built before.The system is tested and validated, and the process is introduced at the end of thispaper. Analysis is performed to compare the direction-of-arrival algorithm between thephased-array radar and the MIMO radar. Base-band echoes are processed. In the end,some prospection are made for the system and some algorithms.
