The integration of mobile communications and broadband wireless accesstechnology is developing trend of future mobile communications. In order to maintainthe competition in the wireless communication field, meet the challenge of thewideband access techniques and the new services,3GPP started the standardization ofLong Term Evolution (LTE) in2004.Resource allocation and management is an eternal theme of wirelesscommunications. Many new technologies, such as OFDM and MIMO, have beenintroduced in LTE system, meanwhile the available system resource has been expandedinto multi-dimensional space. So how to effectively manage the system resources hasbecome an important problem to be resolved in LTE systems. Game Theory, as a branchof applied mathematics, has been introduced into radio resource management by manyscholars.Based on the research of the present development of the radio resource management,a joint resource allocation algorithm based on cooperative game in LTE systems ispresented in this paper in order to achieve the system throughput optimization under thepremise of guaranteeing fairness. Firstly, the principles and related key techniques ofLTE system are introduced in this paper, and the theory of resource schedulingtechniques and several classical scheduling algorithms are studied. Then, a jointtime-frequency-code-power resource allocation algorithm base on cooperative game isprovided for LTE system downlink. Under the given constraints, that is, the minimumrate of each user and the maximal transmit power of the base station (BS), resourceblocks, modulation and coding schemes and power resource are allocated jointly toachieve the Nash Bargaining Solution (NBS) of the game. Finally, the proposed jointresource allocation scheme is compared with other traditional schemes by MATLABsimulation. The simulation shows that the proposed joint resource allocation strategyachieves a good tradeoff between the system throughput and the fairness.
