With the rapid development of science and technology, embedded system hasbecome an important development object in the computer and electronic informationindustry. There are a wide range of embedded devices in our world. The study of a audio video device based on ARM embedded system is putforward in this dissertation. The infrastructure development is completed in thisstudy.Samsung S3C6410processor is used as the core of the hardware. The processor isbased on ARM11core, with a high performance low power consumption. At the sametime it is a SOC chip, which integrates a variety of commonly used peripherals.Itmakes the design of peripheral circuits become very easy, and can reduce costs, improve system reliability.A lot of work is used for the Linux operating system and devices driversdevelopment and Transplanting. The principle of U-Boot guiding operating system isanalysed in detail.Related settings are modified. U-Boot is able to Able to compile andrun successfully. In the following the Linux kernel is configured and tailored for thehardware. In understanding the basic processes of device driver development and thehardware works.Device drivers are realized and added to the kernel.Ultimately kernelis able to provide the support for NAND Flash, DM9000AE network controlchips,WM9714audio decoder chip,LCD controller and touch screen. The Linux file systemprinciple and functions are analysed.A simple root file system is built. Finally, the working conditions of hardware and software systems are testedthrough the form of transplanting GUI and multimedia player. The test results showthat the infrastructure developmentofaudio and video systemsis successfully realized.Itprovides a good operating platform for application.
