WiMAX(Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access), is also known as a broadband wireless technology based on802.16e.It is a broadband wireless connectivity solution provided for business and home users with the "last mile". It can provide high rate data, audio and video services in both fixed and mobile environment and meet all the requirements of mobility, broadband and IP-based architecture. Currently, WiMAX has been widely applied to business and home users which will have greater development. Cities full of tall buildings and obstacles will bring considerable influences, so it is very important to study how the signals can be effective anti-multi path fading, transfer larger amounts of information faster, how to minimize distortion using technology ways, reduce the error to restore the original technology. This article gives out a detailed analysis of the technical characteristics of the WiMAX system based on the questions above, the key technical features of the physical layer, and some system design issues, and use the following solutions. In order to effectively reduce the multi path fading of signals, to obtain minimum error signals, it is useful to use OFDMA (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) technology to process the transmission signal, using LS estimation and LMMSE criteria in the signal receiver for channel estimation and equalization, to lead to the actual analysis of the method of valuation or estimation using pilot value method,. This design has a good anti-ISI characteristics of signal transmission distortion, the original signal error is small, less resources in possession of the hardware implementation.By simulation on the FPGA, synthesis, testing, the results obtained using LS estimation and LMMSE pilot criteria can be simpler, less use of LC resources, and reduce hardware power consumption.
