With the increasing requirement for monitoring the secuirty of aviation, thereal-time data and the video information of variety instruments on the aircraft need tobe transmitted synchronously in real time, which put forward higher requirements forthe bus used to transmit real-time data between devices. As a result, it has become anurgent problem that the data transmission need to transmit a large amount of real-timedata synchronously. As an effect method to resolve this problem, EtherCAT technology, which has a flexible topology and high performance, transmits data in a high speed, easily configged, has developed rapidly.A real-time data transmission system is built with the application of the EtherCATtechnology. The system is able to transmit the data of video monitor and the data ofinstruments on aircraft to PC in real time and realize the synchronous transmission ofdata from muti-point. In additon, the system realizes the point-to-multipointcommunication by applying the design mode of master station and multi-slave-station.Also it realizes the scalability by applying the architecture that take FPGA as themicrprocessor and take ET1100as the controller for slave station. The schedule ofoverall design and specific realization of sub-module is presented in the article. And italso describes the design of hardware platform, application program of master station, controller of NIC and internal logic of FPGA is also described in detail. In additon, thecontroller of master station, EtherCAT package mudule, NIC controller and internallogic of FPGA are verificated and achieves the desired result. The Real-time Data Transmission System with100Mbps of transmissionbandwith in this paper, can transmit up to16channels High-definition video data whichcompressed by H.264.Also,the system being extended by a simple upgrade, can easilyachieve a variety of industrial applications.
