With the swift development of science technology, the correlation trackingtechnology is widely used in the field of military tracking, Monitoring System, robotand so on. So the research of the correlation tracking technology has wide applicationsand important academic significance in the future. During the process of target trackingin practice, especially under the complex background, the target is very flexible, so it ismore difficult to track target. The correlation tracking algorithm is the common oneused under this condition. The correlation tracking algorithm is easy to be realized andhas higher tracking precision. However, it is easy to cumulate the errors and has largecomputational complexity, which is not good for correlation tracking algorithm to beused in the actual tracking system. In allusion to the problems the correlation trackingalgorithm has, some analyses and researches on the correlation tracking algorithm aremade in this paper.It mainly makes some researches on the correlation tracking algorithm based on theimage gray in the paper, and then build an experiment platform to validate the real-timetarget tracking system which realizes the real-time tracking target under complexbackground. First, we analyze and compare some correlation tracking algorithms whichare usually used. Due to the results of the analysis and comparison, the mean removalcorrelation algorithm is used in the tracking system for its merit that it has bettertracking capability. Second, we simplify the formula of the mean removal correlationalgorithm and then combine it with tracking window to decrease the computationalcomplexity. Third, some strategies, such as template updating, the judgment of losttarget, the retrieval of lost target, are applied with the mean removal correlationalgorithm to deal with some problems that correlation algorithm can not solve duringthe process of target tracking. Then, a tilt control system is builded to receive theinformation of the target position after image processing. We use the MSComm offeredby Visual C++to send the control order to realize the tracking target monitoring. Finally,an experiment platform of target tracking system based on the correlation trackingalgorithm is builded. The validity of the improved algorithm presented in the paper isproved by experiment, and the real-time tracking target is realized in the experiment.
