With the development of technology and the emergence of new DSP devices, this paper proposed an image tracking system in which TMS320DM642 is the core device.First, according to the function requirements of the system, the paper designed the overall system project, and discussed the various sub-module design of hardware circuit of image tracking system in detail.Secondly, this paper proposed a correlation tracking algorithm based on frequency. The algorithm sets up a target template for differential scale space filtering, and convert large-scale matching operation by the time domain into the frequency domain, without large amount of computation, and enhance accuracy and anti-jamming of the relevant matching. While in the template update strategy, the double contrast similarity detection method improved tracking stability. On this basis, the paper designed the software parts.Finally, system debugging and test were carried out. Experiments showed that the algorithm has real time and high precision, stability and strong tracking features.
