Today, radar imaging as a new radar system is played emphasis on by more andmore countries, because of its all-weather, all-time and remote imaging characteristics.Study of imaging algorithms has important significance for radar imaging. This paperintroduces the radar imaging principle, and then on the basis of the principle, DistanceDoppler Algorithm (R-DA), Range Migration Algorithm (RMA), Chirp ScalingAlgorithm (CSA), Polar Format Algorithm (PFA), Distance-Doppler-DistanceAlgorithm (RDRA) are studied. The main contents of the paper are described asfollowings. This paper introduces the two-dimensional imaging principle of the syntheticaperture radar (SAR) and inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR), and imagingsimulation are done separately from the distance and azimuth. The three classic algorithms of SAR: Range Doppler Algorithm (R-DA), RangeMigration Algorithm (RMA), Chirp Scaling Algorithm (CSA) are studied, andsimulated on the Point target and the graph target model. Based on the same radarparameters the visual simulation results prove that the algorithms are correct.Polar Format Algorithm (PFA) principle of ISAR is studied. The simulation iscarried on from the frequency domain and time domain aspects. In the same model andthe same radar parameters, the algorithm is proved to be correct.A recently proposed radar imaging algorithm: Distance-Doppler-DistanceAlgorithm (RDRA) is studied, detailed analysis of the algorithm principle and structureare made. Finally based on the Point target, the graph target model and the same radarparameters of the classical algorithm, the Distance-Doppler-Distance Algorithm(RDRA) is simulated. The result proves that the algorithm is correct.
