Signal transmission process can be affected and disturbed by such non-ideal factors, such as multi-path effect and Doppler spectrum spread, which would make finesynchronization more difficult, result in phase noise, and finally degrade thecommunication system performance. Therefore, some measures must be taken toestimate and balance these non-ideal factors, which appear particularly important. Thispaper mainly studies on the fine synchronization process and several phase noisesuppression schemes used for the precoded EGPRS2(PCE2) system. At first the paper lists different phases of mobile communication technologydevelopment, and describes the GSM system’s standards and its subsequent evolutions, among which precoded EGPRS2is the core evolution. Then, the core technology ofmobile communication--OFDM is briefly introduced and analyzed. Furthermore, thepaper discusses the frame structure and the pilot position used for PCE2in detail, andalso describes the basic characteristics of wireless channel and simulation environment. The paper mainly focuses on fine synchronization process, including fine timingtrack and frequency offset compensation, and puts forward the correspondinginterpolation algorithm based on pilot. The comparison and analysis of simulationperformance is carried out at last. Moreover, this article elaborates the mathematical model for phase noise in OFDMsystem. In order to facilitate the analysis, the phase noise is divided into common publicerror (CPE) and inter-carrier interference (ICI). Then two pilot based algorithms, analgorithm based on DCT orthogonal basis, as well as the corresponding adaptivealgorithm are put forward for the purpose of prohibiting the phase noise of the system. This paper makes deep research on the analysis of DCT algorithm and thecorresponding adaptive algorithm. At the end of the paper, different algorithms aresimulated in different environments.
