The configuration software is a common monitoring software used in theindustrial process, and its key supporting technology is the database system. It isnecessary to design the professional real-time database system because the traditionaldatabase system can’t meet the needs for real-time. Based on the configurationsoftware, the real-time database system is proposed under this background and its keyresearch area is the index and real-time transaction management. This research is ofgreat practical value.After studying the relatively theories of real-time database system, the function ofthis system is analyzed in detail. And the whole structure of this real-time databasesystem which is suitable for monitoring configuration software is given. Then theprinciple of this whole system is described. The traditional indexes can’t meet thesystem’s needs for real-time, so the index must be improved. Two indexes arecombined together to suits this system. They are the improved T-tree index and hashindex. The improved T-tree index which is also called T-end tree index in this system issuitable for random search and area search, meanwhile, the hash index is suitable forthe equivalence search. In this system the nesting transaction model is proposed. thetransaction priority assignment and the transaction scheduling are designed and thereal-time transaction module is carried out. Then this whole system has been testedwith detail for its function. It has been optimized by the technologies of multi-processand double circulation displaying queue. These technologies have solved the datamissing problem and improved the practicality of this system.The simulation result shows that this real-time database system based on theconfiguration software satisfies the design requirement well.
