Freescale’s MPC8280chip is used in communication systems introduced a high-costprocessors, has a rich communication interface and high level of integration with its coreequipment in the communications field with a wide range of applications.This article first introduces the frame structure of E1, ATM and wireless ATM cell and E1frame mapping relationship involved in the project, Paper focuses on a variety of communicationinterfaces MPC8280conducted a systematic study, analyzes the design ideas of E1TDM and E1WATM Interface.Design of E1interface board based on MPC8280is proposed. The Research onAAL2speech codec technology, UTOPIA II interface technology is studied, and the process ofMCC interrupt handling and interface driver are described in detail. In the design and debuggingprocess, breaking the development and application of high-performance communicationsprocessors, Error control coding and anti-fading frame synchronization which is used to adapt tothe scattering channel transmission, combined with other key technologies. E1Interface Board isrealized as ATM Switch. E1relay interface and gateway interface function. Finally, through the E1board functional testing and performance testing, combined with engineering applications, fullydemonstrating the circuit board design to meet the requirements.
