With the rapid development of the navigation technologies, there is increasingdemand for the navigation antenna. It requires that the directional diagram of the arrayantenna fit the cosecantsquared pattern and the low side-lobe. With the printed dipoleassembled into the array, the cosecantsquared antenna array has the advantages ofsimple structure, light weight. As it fit the demand of the cosecantsquared pattern andthe low side-lobe, the antenna has been used widely in the design of navigation antenna.In this paper, we first recommend the general information about the printed dipole,introduce the navigation antenna technical specifications, discuss the problems andsolutions in the antenna design. With the L-band printed dipole assembled into the array,the antenna meets its technical index. With the help of GA, it synthesize the amplitudeand phase of these five cell. Adjust the phase of the feed network.Then, in the view of the antenna array theory, more details about the design stepsare discussed as follows:(1) The design theory of the printed dipole.(2) With the use of GA, synthesize the amplitude and phase of these five cell.(3) Simulate the power divider of the feed network, adjust the phase of each port of thefeed network.(4) Simulate the whole of the antenna array, optimize the directional diagram, processthe antenna and measure it in the microwave anechoic chamber.Finally, summarize the process of the design and figure out the solution of theproblems. Process the antenna due to the final result. Measure it in the microwaveanechoic chamber. The results show that this antenna fit the target of the item X in allindex.
