Research And Implementation Of OLAP On Multi-Dimensional Of Situation Information

With the increasing development of science and technology, the amount ofacquired data has shown a trend of explosion. More and more attention is paid on howpeople can make good use of these data, especially historical data. Data warehouse andOLAP, which are the important parts of Business Intelligence, has fully solved thisproblem. OLAP, based on data warehouse, enable analyst to analyze data from allaspects quickly and interactively, in order to achieve the purpose of understanding theobserved data.In this paper, related technology about data warehouse and OLAP is describedand information about Pentaho, an open source business intelligence platform isprovided. Moreover, based on the requirement of analyzing situation information (SI),a research about multi-dimensional model of SI, such as area and time oriented, andmodeling technology of multi-dimensional is presented. According to differentrequirements of analyzing SI, the processing flow and application pattern ofassociation analysis, statistical analysis and multi-dimensional analysis are researchedand designed. An OLAP system of SI based on Pentaho as well as ETL process isdesigned and implemented. At last, both ETL process and the analysis function ofSystem are tested using analog data.The test result of system shows that it satisfied the SI analysis requirements.
