Based On The Recommendation Of Personalized Digital Library Search Engine Design

The Digital Library makes a rapid development in Internet period. Compared with traditional library, digital library has the advantages of more information, less space, faster update, free from the constraints of time and etc. Now it’s getting more and more attractive. However, as the "information overload" problem often makes the user confused, they can not find their proper information from large amount of information. Therefore, to construct a personalized digital library to fulfill the demand for users and recommend their books based on users’profile become an important mission of digital library.Firstly, the background of existing digital library and the present conditions of the personalized digital library existing now in China and the problems are overviewed. Then, the necessity of constructing a personalized digital library using recommender system is identified. Based on it, the main functions of our digital library are discussed: personalized search engine and personalized recommender system and core process. Additionally, an analysis of the overall structure, subsystem partition is performed. Based on J2EE and recommender system, the design and implementation of digital library using Browser/Server framework are discussed in detail. Specially, it is focused on how to use recommender system to implement the individual needs of digital library. Finally, the advantages and disadvantages of the platform are summarized.
