In the recent years, along with technique development of computation, MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) and wireless communication et al, people have paid more attention to WSN(Wireless Sensor Networks), and the WSN applies from the original military field to the other many fields. One of the hottest issues is that the covering performance research on WSN and how to repair the coverage holes is also an emerging problem. Not only enlarging the monitoring coverage area, repairing the monitoring coverage holes effectively and replacing the energy-exhausted nodes in time can also extend the whole system’s working time and improve the working performance of WSN.In this paper, a new algorithm based on meshing the area is presented to improve the original algorithms of repairing monitoring coverage holes. To achieve the monitoring goal, detect and repair the monitoring coverage holes under the circumstances of knowing the geographic information. We simulated the repair policy to confirm if it is reasonable on Matlab. Furthermore, we also did two comparative experiments with original algorithms on coverage rate and the total distance the nodes moved after repairing. In the end of this paper, we built a WSN platform. This platform is composed of Zigbee technology as its way of communication, RFID Intelligent floor used for locating sensor nodes, and the robot car with XBee Chip and RFID Reader as sensor nodes. Then we designed the wireless sensor nodes and the monitoring interface on PC, and simulated this algorithm with this platform.
