Beijing Art Museum Display Research For A Long Time

The permanent collection, as a carrier of art museum functions, bears the activities of object exhibition, collection system promotion, as well as public education. This position is well-known in the global museology field. The permanent collection in Chinese art museum, however, has always been an embarrassing issue. In some halls, the permanent collections do not exist. In others, the manner of exhibition is out-fashioned... Currently, in an era which the art museum welcomes new progress guided by various strategy, the art museums are obliged to reflect this issue in permanent collection and react positively.The article aims to analyze the issue of permanent collection of Art Museum in Beijing. In the first sector the author concentrates on the relationship between the evolution of permanent collection and the shaping of art history concept, art history study methods. In the second sector, the understanding is brought into the particularity and current situation of China. Three typical Beijing museums have been sorted out as examples, to analyze and clarify the root of permanent collection issue based on on-site research. At last, a few recommendations are proposed due to the relations between art history and art museums.
