Source localization is a technology that the specific location of sound source can beobtained through arranging sensors as a certain geometry array in space and sound signalsprocessing. Source localization technology has been extensively applied to the aspects ofmilitary and civilian, and its development prospects are very good.In this paper we introduce the development of source location technology, and we alsosimply introduce the C/OS-II system. The main idea of this paper is the sound sourcepositioning systems based on microphone array technology and time-delay estimationtechnology. Choosing the generalized correlation method and the four acoustic sensor array asthe main algorithms for the system, and establishing a sound source positioning systems basedon ARM.This paper proposes the using of STM32F103RBT6as the CPU of the system andC/OS-Ⅱ as the operating system, aim at speed and accuracy requirements for sound sourcelocalization system. The system makes full use of embedded real-time operating systemC/OS-Ⅱ’s feature that can be cut, portability and multi-tasking, it can effectively improve theinterference and real-time of the whole system. The system received sound signal by the microphone array firstly, and then sent thesignal to the STM32through the A/D converter. The time-delay calculation and the soundsource positioning by the STM32, the source coordinates location displayed on the screen ofLCD1602ultimately.The experimental results show that the system program of a soundsource positioning systems based on ARM in this paper is reasonable and effective, with abetter real-time and reliability, and basically meet the need for system design. At the end ofthe paper we also provide the inadequacies of system design, and are ready to do a furtherstudy for the system.
