The Semi-automatic Construction And Application Of The Chinese Common-sense Ontology

With the rapid development of Internet, the information in the web isexponentially increasing. In order to improve the retrieval recall ratio and theretrieval precision of the information, it is necessary to integrate this information intoontology and realize the semantic retrieval based on the ontology. However, the formof the information is various, and the contents refer to every domains of the humanlife. To some extent, the structure and semantics of the data exists difference indifferent domains. These characteristics above are obvious in the multimediainformation. The common-sense ontology which has unified standard structure notonly can describe the low-level features and high-level semantics of the information,but also can solve the integration problem of the multimedia information. At the sametime, it plays an extremely important role in the ontology mapping and ontologyintegration.In the face of the immense amounts of the common-sense knowledge, a methodwhich combines the technology based on the dictionary with the technology based onthe free text to semi-automatically construct Chinese common-sense ontology isproposed by author. This method automatically converts the classification knowledgefrom the dictionary to the core of the Chinese common-sense ontology, and then theother information in the dictionary is semi-automatically added into the core ontology.Lastly object properties are extracted by the dynamic expansion mechanism based onthe free text. The process of extracting is that we grab the interpretation of theconcept in the ontology from the online dictionary of Xinhua, and then extract theobject properties through the technology of word segmentation and the technology ofthe syntactic analysis. The results of the experiment show that this method cansemi-automatically construct the Chinese common-sense ontology. And the ontologyis estimated from the three indexes of structure, the size of the description andmaturity.In order to reflect the value of the Chinese common-sense ontology, the authordesigns an application system. This system realizes the ontology quering, the thebasic ontology extraction of the domain ontology and the semantic retrieving of themultimedia information. The basic ontology extraction makes domain ontologies areconstructed on the Chinese common-sense ontology, which effectively solves the problem of the ontology mapping and ontology integration. And the semanticretrieving of the multimedia information can quickly and accurately get theinformation which is need by users on the basic of the computer understands thesemantic information. Meanwhile, a conception of a semantic publication system ofthe healthcare product is proposed by author.In conclusion, the paper sums up the research work of the construction andapplication of the Chinese common-sense ontology, and explains the problems and thefuture prospects in the research work.
