With the rich species and quantities in the sensing equipments and their derivative services ofInternet of Things (IoT), it’s necessary to establish an effective mechanism which helps to representand support these services and to enhance the ability of support and management for the openplatform which aims at integrating the services of Internet of Things. At the same time, it’snecessary to design some compositing methods to make the services interactive and to apply andadd value effectively.This thesis studies basic structure of Internet of Things, ideology of service-integratingplatform and characteristic of IoT services. In order to improve platform’s ability of support andmanagement of services, this thesis designs an IoT-service description method based on the XML.Meta-Model theory and the technology of Model-XML interchange are used during this process todescribe the service’s feature and design standard description model comprehensively. On the otherhand, in order to improve the platform’s ability of merging services, Petri net and basic compositinglogic is based on and expanded to design service composition of the IoT platform by expanding anddesigning the related element and specification of modeling. Thirdly, this thesis also designs themethod of evaluation of QoS of the entire composition according to different structure, which isbased on the mathematical analysis of Petri net.During the realization, this thesis designs relate modules and interfaces of the presentation layerand the support layer which are parts of service-management of the platform, especially aiming atthe service description and composition module of actual realization. Results show that the methodsdesigned can describe and persist the service which will be loaded on the platform in uniform andstandardized way. The composition method can also be used to arrange and reuse the existingservices logically, which improves the platform’s support on the mutual exchange of the services,satisfying the platform’s requirement of open, management and scalability.
