Along with rapid development of fiber to the home (FTTH) technology,requirements ofoptical fiber communication systems transferred from the core network to the access networkand now the access network biggest problem is that excessive bending loss, therefor theInternational Telecommunication Union proposed G.657anti-bending loss fiber, to cope with thedemand for fiber growing anti-bending performance.From the demand of FTTH, fiber bending loss is the most important reason affecting accessnetwork construction, thus object of this dissertation is the existing G.657anti-bending lossoptical fiber analysis testing and simulation, resulting in the analysis of anti-fiber bending losstype an effective means of research.And then describes the essence of bend loss, respectively,from the two aspects of the geometrical optics and the theory of electromagnetic optics, and thenchange the refractive index profile of the fiber bending the root causes of that stress generationthe corresponding theoretical derivation also made to obtain the expression of the bendingloss.Given the explain of G.657standards of resistance to bending fiber, followed by the fivekinds of existing anti-bending fibers analysis of its structure, the contrast of the five kinds ofexisting anti-bending the optical fibers from the manufacturing process. About theNano-structured optical fiber, it did the principle of resistance to bending loss and itsanti-bending performance tested by the different wavelengths of incident light of its ownlongitudinal contrast and its manufacturing process by way of illustration. All those is useful tothe manufacture of new types of special optical fiber for the manufacturing sector of China’soptical fiber, providing a reference guide of fiber manufacturing in theory. The last of the thesisis about the nature of bending an optical fiber, that is the bending stress field led to thedistribution of the refractive index of the fiber core and the cladding layer resulting in the factthat the bending loss of the optical fiber. Using a simulation manner on the five kinds of existinganti-bending the optical fibers to get the transmission mode analysis and comparison of thebending loss occurs, we can understand its essence, anti-bending performance. This method toanalysis anti-bending optical fiber will be important significance to the development of opticalfiber, the analysis of optical fiber performance, the development of the theory of anti-bendingoptical fiber.
