In order to meet the demands of high-quality streaming media, a Dynamic Adaptive Streaming overHTTP (DASH) technology standard is internationally proposed. However, DASH lacks a unifiedclient-deployed rate-adaptive algorithm standard, the existing rate-adaptive algorithm parameters areincomplete, and implementation technologies are not adaptable to the situation of diversity clients. Due tothese reasons, research on technology of network video transport and its application has importanttheoretical significance and practical value.The work of this thesis includes: Analyzing system architecture and workflow of network videotransmission, combined the DASH standard with practical application, proposing the evaluation criteria foradaptive streaming algorithm. Former adaptive streaming algorithms are studied, the timing of the client toreceive streaming media files is analyzed, and a multi-parameter adaptive streaming algorithm is proposedaccording to the comprehensive evaluation criteria for adaptive streaming algorithms. The plug-inVLC-DASH is analyzed, VLC DASH development methods are summarized, and the basic idea of theDASH application development is proposed. Finally, the thesis uses MATLAB to simulate and analyzeSegment Fetch Time adaptive streaming algorithm and multi-parameter adaptive streaming algorithm inthe initial stage, buffer-limited period and the performance of the CPU overhead. The simulation provesthat the proposed algorithm is integrity and universality.
