Visual Foxpro Exposition The Research And Implementation Of Automatic Marking System

As a public basic course for students whose major is not Computer Science, the Visual FoxPro(VFP) Programming course opened in general higher educational institutes has a great number of students participating its examinations, and these students come from a broad range of specialities. The marking of exam papers as well as statistics and analysis of results after examination has consumed plenty of efforts and resources. It is very important to perform an auto reviewing process for the operating questions so as to rate each student’s performance fairly, rapidly and accurately, and analyze the factors influencing the students’results on a basis of statistics.Through research and validation to the actual situation of teaching and examination for the VFP Programming course, an automatic marking system has been designed and implemented for the computer test of VFP, and this system can carry out non-program marking, program static marking and program dynamic marking. The automatic marking system will minimize the subjective factors and uncertainties during the marking of operating questions; the students’diversification in both operating methods and thinking ways of solving can be evaluated scientifically and objectively during the automatic marking process.After working out results with the automatic marking system, a mining analysis can be performed on the data about the students’results by applying Apriori algorithm in the association rules for data mining, so as to find the association among the factors influencing students’results. Generated rules then can be used to guide teaching practice of VFP programming course, providing an overall improvement for the teaching quality of this course.The practices prove that the auto reviewing system runs well, and it has greatly improved the productivity and been widely accepted by both teachers and students.
