The increasing number of nitrogen oxide emissions has not only brought acid rain and human damage but also brought huge economic losses to our country. The "12th Five-Year Plan" clearly proposed emission reduction mandate, getting nitrogen oxides control to be an important issue of environmental governance. As one of the polluting industries, the glass industry is in need of new technology to control nitrogen oxides. The selective catalytic reduction (SCR) is the most widely used gas denitrification technology, and its basic principle is using ammonia as the reducing agent, reducing nitrogen from nitrogen oxides. The topic is based on the gas denitrification project of glass furnace in a glass factory in Jiangsu, a PLC control system based on PROFIBUS DP fieldbus is designed to control the ammonia storage and supply process.This paper firstly gives the system’s overall design through the description and analysis of the ammonia storage and supply process. Then we design the system’s control strategies according to the need of safty controlling, temperature controlling and pression controlling, simulation research proves that the control strategies can work well. After that the paper describes the whole control system’s development process in detail, including the system’s hardware selection, configuration, electrical design, and controlling and monitoring software design. Finally, the paper talks about the system debugging method as well as some related engineering problems, the system debugging can be divided into two parts that is joint debugging of monitoring system and PLC and joint debugging of monitoring system, PLC and virtual controlled object. As to the engineering problems, the paper mainly discusses system’s power supply design, the remote access plan and simulation method of the controlled object.Debugging result shows that the system can ensure a safe storage of liquefied ammonia and a steady supply of ammonia, capable of process parameters on-line detection and automatic control. The system is designed strictly abide by the principle of safety systems design., it has a guiding role in the storage and supply of ammonia control system design in gas denitrification project.
