Visible light that human eyes can perceive is just a small section in the electromagnetic spectrum.With a variety of new imaging sensors continue to emerge,man’s vision has been greatly expanded. We achieve images of different band more simply and conveniently.The ultraviolet detection technology is a new imaging detection technology for military purposes in Occident. It uses NUV spectrum (240-280nm) characteristics, i.e. the target issued ultraviolet far more stronger than that of the sun in the aerosphere. UV image detecting system can get, identify and analyse the information of the target through the image detecting system.This Paper combines the latest research of UV detecting technology home and abroad. Some researches are done about the characteristics and applications of UV detecting technology in our daily life, as well as the effect that may bring to people’s life. It has also achieved some detailed analyses and introductions of the detection and recognition technology of fingerprint. To meet the actual needs of UV detection for the visible and fingerprint images, I’ve done a research of video fusion technology. I established a dual-spectrum video fusion system with the core of a high-performance digital signal processor, TMS320DM642. It’s aimed at adding background information of visible light to the fusion image when detecting fingerprint information. It will be helpful for the further research.I introduce the design principle, functions, characteristics and devices of every part of the system. The experimental results are described and analyzed.
