Recently, typical microdisplays like LCoS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) and OLEDon Silicon (Organic Light Emitting Diode on Silicon) are developing rapidly. At thesame time,3D imaging and display technologies are also developing fast. TheCorresponding products are widely used in military, detection in the wide, medicalscience and etc. Especially along with the universalization of large screen flat paneldisplay(Liquid Crystal Display panel, Plasma Display Panel),3D imaging devices arewidely used in civilian areas. According to the principle of human eye stereoscopicimaging, binocular3D imaging technology is the most realistic3D imaging method.Thus, combining3D display technology with the characteristics of microdisplay, NED(Near Eye Display) and binocular display,“Head Mounted Near Eye Binocular3DImaging” will be a new try in3D imaging market.Thus, this article takes the application of microdisplay based binocular3D imagingtechnology as research object, combining the research of digital image processingtheory, based on the in-depth analysis of the theory and principle of microdisplay,3Dimaging technology, and the research of microdisplay based binocular3D imagingmethod, by the verification on FPGA hardware platform, finally it comes to the systemsolution that meet the needs of the issue. The specific work is as below:1.Briefly introduces microdisplay technology and3D display technology research,proposes the background and significance of this issue;2.Focus on the research of side by side3D signal format, combining the presenttypical image processing algorithm, proposes a method to realize binocular3D imaging;3.The specific process of logic design and simulation;4. Verification and test on FPGA hardware platform.The basis of the topics, as the core module of portable product, the designed FPGAhardware platform based on the proposed solution can meet all the indications of designexpectations, and the perception assessment is satisfied.
