As the reform in military goes on, new technologies, manufacture arts and units arewidely used in radar equipment. As a result, the performances of radar are improvedwhile the testing becomes more and more complex. It demands more and more for thetexting, which were mainly focused on the increase of testing content, the boomingworkload, and the higher demand for the function, performance of the testing equipment,such as the testing period, precision and so on. Traditional manpower testing methodscan’t satisfy the testing and maintain work of modern radar equipment, especial whenthere was a batch of radar. Therefore, auto testing technology is the inevitable choice.It is difficult in the testing of the radiation-frequency component. It strongly needsthe maintenance man possessing technology skills. It is not enough for the maintenanceman to possessing a wealth of special knowledge and experience of maintenance.Skilled in operating kinds of equipment is also a necessary request, because the skilllevel of the maintenance man affects the testing results and efficiency directly. In thetraditional testing of radiation-frequency component of radar, maintenance manoperated the testing equipment and took down the data directly. In testing process, itinvolved different kinds of equipment with different functions. The equipment has weakrelationship between each other, and causes the inconvenience in operating. As a result,man-made errors or false are prone to caused. In addition, there other disadvantages,such as low testing speed, repetitive operation, inefficiency, long testing period, and thehalf-baked inherit of maintenance experience.In order to solve the problems in traditional testing of radiation-frequencycomponent of radar, a system of auto testing was designed for radiation-frequencycomponent testing in the study, which was based on technology of equipment bus. Thebus used for testing prescribes that the system designer should follow the rules of thebus, without designing a connector individually. Then, it simplifies the design forhardware and software, conveniences the composing of system, improves the reliability,and is also prone to be extended and upgraded. Testing bus was started from GPIB inthe70s of last century, and has passed several generations. At present, there are kinds of buses for testing equipment in market, such as GPIB, VXI, PXI, LXI etc. Each kind ofbus has it characteristic and advantage, and is suitable for different applications.The system realized streamline and standardized operation in radiation-frequencycomponent testing of radar. It can reduce the manmade errors in maintenance testing,debase the demand for technology skills of workers, and has importance meanings inimproving testing efficiency and saving costs in maintenance. Besides, a kind of plug-insoftware platform was put forward, which solved the problems, such as the connectionbetween equipment and the control of new equipment. It prolongs the whole life of thesoftware.
