The main characteristics of the magnetron tube are high efficiency and lowoperating voltage. And the simplicity of structure brings some other advantages likesmall size, light weight, convenience for using, reliability and low cost.The Eight-millimeter magnetron tube discussed in this paper is a microwave signalpower source designed for a missile-borne radar transmitter. It has some remarkablefeatures, such as low-voltage operating, high-voltage starter and miniaturization. Andthe dimensions reached the highest domestic level, which provides the technical supportfor the miniaturization of radars.The interaction space and the resonant system are the key parts of the magnetrontube, which determine the quality of the device. This paper discussed the design for theresonant system of the magnetron tube. The contents are as follows:1、The selection of the interaction space of magnetic interaction, the dimensionparameters and electrical parameters for miniaturization;2、Optimization for the parameters according to the problems in mass productionafter completing the whole design for the system.The test results show that the device has reached the following levels. The size is36×36×36mm. The weight is380±10g. The operating voltage of the anode is6.3±0.2kV.And the accuracy of frequency is±50MHz. The nominal output power is stable and theproperty of spectrum is good.
