In this paper, we focus on how to effectively use the information to promote the development of education.The information management of students is one of focus. In this paper, we focus on how to effectively use the information to promote the development of education. In our system, data mining is used to produce the predictability and guiding knowledge. The teachers, school manager and other relevant departments should make use of the knowledge to know the development of students.The theoretical innovation in this paper is followed:1. Classifying and clustering are two methods of data mining, which analyze data by classifying and reasoning. We improved a new method, called hierarchical data mining. It is a combination of Classifying and clustering.2. Finding the implicit relationship within the data, Association rules should be considering into. We improve these rules’progress and put the super high frequency out.The system of tracking and analyzing college students is built with C/S model in order to collect students’ information at school and at work. These data are saved in network database, and then used to discovery knowledge by data mining, classify by hierarchical model and acquire new information by association rules. Through analysis of our instances, both hierarchical model and association rules are effective methods in data mining.In our paper, the main works include these followed:1) By analyzing the examples, hierarchical model is effective in data mining, and then it is applied to the system.2) Association rules are used in the system of tracking and analyzing college students for knowledge discovery.3) We focus on the students’ Psychological state, and complete the system of student psychological investigation.4) SQL Server is used to create database system, and it makes analysis and query easier, and so on. 5) We construct the system of tracking and analyzing college students by C/S model, which is divided in to four parts:self-assessment module, Teacher evaluation module, communication module and system module.
