| The development of3G technology clears the way of meeting the public’s demand for mobile internet by breaking the bandwidth limitations, and the advent of iPhone and other smart phones break the bottleneck of device performance. In this context, a large number of various types of commercial mobile applications are becoming popular and thus create a new mobile life style. However, college teachers and students also have the need of acquiring educational information anytime and anywhere, who lack effective means until now. This paper constucts a campus information platform which can serve different kinds of mobile phones by the application of device awareness and content adaptation technology. Moreover, important information can be pushed real-time by integration of text message service of the Mobile Agent Server and Change Data Capture mechanism of Oracle database. The key achievements of the paper are as follows:1. By means of the Device Awareness technology, mutual significant characters in the development of mobile Web are figured out to help with the grouping of multifarious mobile devices;2.In view of the classification of mobile devices, the technology of adaptive content delivery is adopted to set the adjusting points and thus a self-adaptive mobile Web site is developed to realize the efficient teaching information service;3. As for the hot and high real-time information, the push technology is utilized to realize the information push service, which enhance its timeliness;4. A performance test on the platform has been conducted with frequently used mobile devices.After daily use by the teachers and students, the system proves efficient in improving informatization in college by effective extension of the service platform from PC to mobile devices. |
