People never stopped upgrading their residential in history. Modern times, with theprogress of scientific and technological, people applied more automated and intelligentproducts to the living environment’s changes. In this context, the smart home, thislittle-known concept in a few years ago, now accepted and applied to real life by moreand more people. Based on the existing Smart Home system as the research object, thispaper presents a traditional home for intelligent home control platform. The platformsystem with the intelligent home gateway as the central controller, using modular designmethods, adopted new ZigBee technology as control network means of communication,external use wired access to the public network, realized such as: remote control,environmental monitoring, appliance control, doors and windows control, videosurveillance, intelligent alarm and a series of functions.This paper first proposed a smart home control platform design plan, on this basis,an integrated control system for smart home within the various subsystems of thedetailed design, to achieve the smart home control platform’s basic functions. Thissystem includes a central controller and the subsystems as two major parts. Thehardware design of central controller using S3C2440ARM9processor which isproduced by Samsung, using the embedded Linux operating system and BOAembedded Web server for software platform, Through the Common Gateway Interface(CGI) realized the functions of control various equipments through web browser. Aboutsubsystem, design and implementation of some of the major control modules such aselectric windows curtains module, electronic lock modules, environmental monitoringsystems in smoke (fire) alarm module, humidity control module, power switch andlighting control module, meanwhile finishing the integration of network monitoring, GSM alarm module and such on. Each module closely linked together to centralcontroller, form a complete set of system through family subnet which constituted byZigBee and Ethernet.By actual test, the family subnet and each subsystem module is working properly,function and stability. Basically comply with expected results.
