In recent years, the research on wireless sensor network has achieved some results. However, the research on the data aggregation protocol for WSN still has much more research space. As the constraints of sensor node energy, while the main energy consumption of sensor nodes is in the data transmission. Therefore, how to reduce the amount of data transmitted over the network and the energy consumption of nodes and prolong the network lifetime has become a key point of research in wireless sensor network.According to this background, we focused on two aspects of the study based on analysis of typical data aggregation protocol of WSN.Firstly, we proposed a data aggregation algorithm of the wireless sensor network based on pattern code in the cluster, using pattern code in the implementation of data aggregation, we considered the application of sleep-activation mechanism to reduce the total of data transmission in the network, remove redundant data; Secondly, we proposed the data aggregation tree generation algorithm based on the cluster head, using the cluster head in the process of building aggregation tree, we considered the rest energy of nodes, the costs of data transmission and the benefits of data aggregation three factors to find the better data aggregation point, it can effectively reduce the amount of information transmitted over the network, balance the network latency and energy consumption. The paper is emulated on the platform of NS2. The performance indicates that when there are a lot of redundant data in the monitored area, a data aggregation algorithm of the wireless sensor network based on pattern code in the cluster is superior to conventional algorithm based on weighted average in the energy consumption, the algorithm improves the ratio of using energy over the network; When the scale of the network is not large, the data aggregation tree generation algorithm based on the cluster head is superior to DD in energy consumption and data delay, the algorithm reduce energy dissipation, decrease the network latency.
