The new generation of broadband multimedia satellite network system is a communication system which is able to achieve a global seamless coverage. Unlike the conventional satellite system, it uses the technology of ATM over satellite and adopts a new terminal design. It realizes the VCI-level exchange and meets the need of transmitting broadband, high-quality multimedia services. Otherwise, OpenLaszlo is a kind of leading client RIA development platform. The System developed in OpenLaszlo can provide users with a higher and more comprehensive Internet experience. Thus, the construction of a new OpenLaszlo-based network management system to control and manage the next-generation network system has good practical significance. It can monitor and deal with a variety of business access, and provide network users with the necessary services.In this thesis, the present situation and future trends of the new generation of broadband multimedia satellite system were introduced firstly. Then the requirement analysis of satellite network management system was conducted. Meanwhile, the leading RIA development language OpenLaszlo was studied. On the basis, combined with the characteristics of the new generation of broadband multimedia satellite network system, a broadband multimedia satellite network management system based on OpenLaszlo was designed and implemented. The System was divided into two parts. They are respectively foreground client and background server. The foreground client was developed by OpenLaszlo. The user of network management system can conduct network management only by login website. The way of checking out partial network management information including switcher info, terminal Info, network connection info and so on is by pulling data from background server. The background server pushes terminal access info and terminal exit info to foreground by adoption of observer pattern. At the same time, the background server collects network management info and conducts terminal address parsing by communication with other component parts including collection end, charging center and junctional gateway station of satellite network system. Finally, a testing environment was putted up and the whole network system was tested by using of analog terminal and analog switcher network management agent. Experimental results show t the new OpenLaszlo-based broadband multimedia satellite network management system can meet needs of the whole network system.
