With the development of transmission system, multi-motor synchronous drive has been more widely used in various fields. For improving the dynamic and static performances of multi-motor drive systems, and to meet the more precise requirements of specific systems, it is more and more important to research on multi-motor synchronous control, which is attracted wide attention from scholars.In this paper which is to multi-motor synchronous control experiment system in ROCKWELL Automation Lab in Northeastern University as the background, the principle and the feature of multi-motor synchronous control system are analyzed. With the existing equipments in the lab, the control system of the multi-motor synchronous control experiment system has been set up. According to the actual situation of the control object, PID neural network multi-variable control algorithm which has been researched is applied on multi-motor synchronous control. The principle of vector control of PMSM is analyzed. Build a PMSM speed control system in Simulink. PID neural network multi-motor synchronous controller is designed. Then use the controller and the model of PMSM which has been built to experiment in Simulink. The experiment which is used to verify the method is also designed. The data which were got from the simulation has been used on the system. The hardware has been set and debug on the system on which the software also has been designed and programmed, including the configuration of the motion control module, writing ladder program and production of PC monitor screen.The results of the experiment in Simulink and the experiment on the platform all have the satisfactory results in speed synchronization control in the specific application. The method overcome the inherent shortcomings of master and slave control, solving the problem of speed synchronous control in multi-motor synchronous control system and meeting the requirements of the multi-motor synchronous control experimental system.
