With the development of medical imaging and computer technology, various kindsof advanced medical imaging equipments can provide multi-modality medical images.Medical image fusion technology which can fusion the various medical complementaryinformation in one image, provide more accurate and valid data. It is a kind of importantauxiliary medical technology.The Intuitionistic Fuzzy Reasoning (IFR) fusion theory is mainly discussed in thispaper, which belongs to the intelligent fusion method. IFR fusion theory will be appliedin the image space domain and transform domain respectively. Put forward specificalgorithm as well.IFR is introduced in medical image fusion method of image space domain.Presents a medical image fusion method based on IFR. When dealing with the vagueproblem, The non-membership function can provide more accurate judgements andcareful reasoning results. When membership function does not work, there can use IFRto structure IFR fusion system to improve the quality of the fusion image. Compared themethod in the paper with the fuzzy reasoning method, the experiment results show thatthe algorithm proposed performs better than the fuzzy reasoning method.Moreover, IFR is introduced in medical image fusion method of image frequencydomain. Presents a medical image fusion method based on IFR and Contourlettransform. Contourlet transform is a very flexible multi-scale decomposition ofresolution. Compared with the wavelet transform, it has stronger direction and can bevery keen to show the image of directional singular features. This paper presents amethod combining the good characteristics of IFR and Contourlet transform. Use theIFR to classify the high frequency coefficients of the CT and MRI images. Then set upcorresponding fusion rules, and get high quality fusion image. The experiment resultsshow that the algorithm proposed performs better than the traditional fusion methodbased on Contourlet transform.
