As a complex electronic system, vehicle system has an extremely prominent problem of electromagnetic compatibility, and it is very important to carry out the fault diagnosis for this problem. Due to the complexity structures of system, the great number of impact factors and the dense relationship between individual subsystems, so the diagnosis of the fault for more complex problems require a combination of some specific fault diagnosis method in order to meet the actual use requirements.In this paper, electromagnetic compatibility of vehicle system is the research objective. Base on the principles of fault tree establishment, fault disturbed of the system within a radio is the top event. The conducted interference and radiated interference in vehicle system can be subclass according to the three elements of EMC analysis method. Respectively find middle event and basic event of the fault tree, and establish electromagnetic interference fault tree by logic relationship. Using Boolean algorithm to find the minimal cut sets of interference, optimize the cut sets by combing with work experience and the actual situation of the failed probability of the end event, and the most likely minimal cut sets of electromagnetic interference would be got. Finally, according to the minimal cut sets and the analysis results for each intermediate links, the fault diagnosis can be carrying out. This approach significantly reduces testing on the project process, shorten the design cycle, making the analysis results that are more valuable, reliable and clear, increase the efficiency of fault diagnosis for electromagnetic compatibility.The fault tree method applied to the diagnosis of EMC in this paper, it provides a theoretical basis and practical methods for electromagnetic compatibility diagnostics. Finally, combined with practical engineering experience or huge amounts of data, EMC failure analysis get a more clear and precise analytical results.
