Airborne forward-looking radar detection system has been widely used in wide-area surveillance, battlefield reconnaissance and so on. With respect to the imaging problems in forward-looking mode, the real aperture scan imaging method is focused in this dissertation. Based on this method, scene imaging and point target detection along the flight track are developed in detail. The main contents of this dissertation are listed as follows:1. Some basic principles of the imaging algorithms for airborne forward-looking radar are firstly analyzed. Based on these algorithms the geometric model on real aperture forward-looking imaging is established. High azimuth resolution algorithms based on deconvolution technology are then developed and simulated. On the basis of these researches, the norms of scene imaging and point target detection are built.2. A real aperture forward-looking imaging method based on non-complete data deconvolution is proposed. Interpolation and low pass filtering (LPF) are used to pre-process the echo data. Furthermore, the ground scene is reconstructed by means of deconvolution through inverse filtering. Theoretical analysis and simulation results demonstrate its performance in the application of airborne forward-looking high resolution imaging radar system under certain conditions.3. Aiming at the spectrum aliasing and deterioration in imaging performance caused by interpolation and deconvolution, a real aperture forward-looking imaging method based on subspace projection is proposed. The echo data is processed using array high resolution technology to realize the target recognition and estimation of amplitude.
